Telecare

The Department of Health have set targets for Telecare to be available in all homes that need it by 2020.

Policies such as the ‘National Services Framework’ for older people and long term conditions have emphasised the need to enable more people to be supported in the community.

What is Telecare?

It’s about using Communication Technology to increase the potential for home care, so the elderly, disabled or people with chronic conditions can carry on having an independent lifestyle, as safely as possible.
